How it works
Three steps, in this order. After that you just talk.

You create a parent account
With your e-mail address and a password. You receive a code by e-mail so we know it’s really you.

You add your child and share a link
Enter your child’s name and you get a pairing link with a QR code. Send it to your child’s device any way you like.

Your child taps the link. Done.
Your child’s device is now linked to you. There is no account, no password and no contact list. Only your chat.
What you get
No number for your child
A tablet with Wi-Fi is enough. Your child needs no SIM card, phone number or e-mail address.
Photos and emoji
Send photos back and forth. You see when a message has arrived and when it has been read.
You hold the switch
Lost device or a new phone? Unlink it remotely and create a new link.
Several children
Each child gets their own chat with you. Siblings don’t see each other’s messages.
Everywhere
In any browser, as an app on the home screen and as an Android app. In English, Dutch and German.
Multiple devices per child
Chromebook, phone and tablet: one account, one conversation. Messages and read receipts stay in sync everywhere, and access can be revoked per device.
Location sharing, encrypted
See where your child (and which device) last was — and your child can check your location too. End-to-end encrypted: the server never sees coordinates.

Can my child add other people?
No. Your child’s app has no search, no contact list and no way to add anyone. The only link is made by you, through a link you create.
What if someone else gets hold of the link?
A link works once and expires after 48 hours. In your overview you see exactly when and from which device the link was used. Doesn’t look right? Unlink with one tap and create a new link.
Does my child need a phone number or an account?
No. A device with a browser and internet is enough. The device itself is linked; there is no account and no password for your child to forget or share.
Can both parents join?
A parent account can be logged in on several devices at the same time, so you can share it with the other parent. Messages then show up everywhere.
Where are our messages stored?
Encrypted on the SafeLoop server. Messages and photos are end-to-end encrypted: only the devices of parent and child hold the key, SafeLoop itself cannot read them. You can clear a child's history at any time and delete your whole account.

Did your parent send you a link? Open that link on the device you want to chat on. That’s all you need to do.
